2017 Season Recap

Thanks to the support and fundraising done by volunteers, the 2017 season turned into another success for West Suburban.  The spring began with improvements made to Miller Field at West Suburban.  New dugouts were constructed and a new backstop was added.  Both renovations greatly improved the safety and playing experience for children on Miller Field.

During the 2017 regular season West Suburban fielded 33 teams between baseball, softball and the Challenger Division. S&J Crosstie Construction (Majors), Pitt Bull Technologies (Intermediates), and Franklin Credit Union-Conemaugh Twp. (Minors) won regular season titles.

The post season was highlighted by West Suburban capturing the Pennsylvania Minor Division District 11 Championship. The team eventually was eliminated from the state competition with loses to Philipsburg-Osceola and East Pennsboro-who went on to be the PA state runner up.

West Suburban also captured 7 post season tournament titles including: Conemaugh Valley 11-12, East Taylor Jackson 11-12, Conemaugh Twp. 9-10, West Suburban 9-10, Conemaugh Valley 9-10, Conemaugh Twp. Machine Pitch, and East Taylor Jackson Machine Pitch Tournaments.  The 10U Softball team made its first trip to the PA Section 4 Tournament.  Visit the WSLL Trophy Case page to see more on the WSLL tradition.

2017 also saw 3 former West Suburban players travel to California and help Johnstown (Moxham Bank)  finish as runner up to Seoul, Korea in the Pony-13 International World Series.  The 9-10 All-Star manager was also inducted into the AAABA Hall of Fame.

Please plan on attending a WSLL Board Meeting over the fall and winter as preparations are underway for the 67th season at West Suburban in 2018 season.
